Different day, different hashtag!
Take advantage of trending hashtags that recur every week for an easy way to carve out content categories that make you a part of the daily social media conversation. Luckily it is pretty easy to plan ahead with these hashtags that tend to trend consistently for each day of the week, allowing you to jump in on these fun conversations and save time by scheduling them in advance.

Hashtag contests are a great way to get your followers working for you by creating a louder buzz on social media. One of the best ways to do this is by aligning your hashtag contest with daily trending hashtags. Stitch Fix does just that with #StitchFixFriday where they encourage shoppers to post pics of their Stitch Fix outfits on Fridays with #StitchFixFriday for the chance to win $250. By also encouraging users to add #Friday the posts become a part of a much bigger conversation with over 1 million posts.
By using #SaturdaySwag you could host a contest where shoppers post what they bought in your shop that day with your store’s custom hashtag as well as #SaturdaySwag. By motivating the posts with an entry to a giveaway your customers will be much more likely to post. Their images will become free advertising for you that will reach all of their friends and anyone browsing the hashtag too. Score!
You will want to be sure that you run the contest every week on the designated day so that your customers get comfortable with posting and they will know to be looking out for the winner each week on your account as well. This keeps them coming back to your account and – you guessed it – engaging with you again!
These days, a hashtag is so much more than an old fashioned pound sign. It’s the key to conversational commerce that can lead to another familiar symbol – dollar signs!
